It does not include hymns about other topics which can be inferred from the parable, just ones which relate directly to the parable.
The list is grouped into two sections:
- Free-use (either copyright has expired, or the author has allowed them to be freely used)
- Still subject to copyright and so can only be used if you are covered by a copyright license.
Both children's and adults hymns / songs are included in each list - because except for the youngest of children, it is is difficult to draw a clear distinction between them.
About the Parable of the Sower
This parable is included in three of the gospels:- Mark 4:3-25
- Matthew 13:3-23
- Luke 8:5-18
It is a story about the message of God's kingdom (represented by the seed scattered by the farmer), and four possible ways of hearing it (ie responding) to this - rocky path, shallow, weeds - culminating in hearing and acting based on the word, aka being "good soil".
Jesus also explains why he teaches in parables, in this parable.
