Hymn for the 6th Sunday after Epiphany / 3rd Sunday before Lent - in Year C, Revised Common Lectionary


A selection of  hymns and song suggestions, based on themes from the Revised Common lectionary for the sixth Sunday after Epiphany in Year C.

Most are free-to-use (ie public domain or copyright-free) meaning the words can be copied and sung to at least one tune with no concerns about copyright or performance licensing. Many such hymns are old/traditional - but where possible a variety of styles / genres are included.

Readings

First: Jeremiah 17:5-10  - A blessing on the one who puts his trust in the Lord.

Psalm: Psalm 1 - Happy are those whose delight is in the Lord

Second: I Corinthians 15:12-20 - Christ has .. been raised form the dead, the first-fruits of all who have fallen asleep.

Gospel: Luke 6:17-26 - People come to Jesus for healing - the sermon on the plain - the Beatitudes:   happy are the poor in spirit.
